I have always spent hours sifting through catalogs. In preparation of Santa's arrival, I would spend hours circling pictures. I would inevitably mark the toy I'd been dying to have as well as a multitude I'd never seen before. My list would grow and, come the magical day, I'd discover which Santa thought were best for me. As I grew older, my focus changed from toys to clothing, trying to find the best value for my hard-earned high-school pay check. I was constantly fascinated by the items which I would discover within the pages of what most would consider junk mail.
To this day, I am still stuck at the mailbox when a new catalog arrives. I walk slowly up the driveway, turning pages with large eyes, scanning through products as though I am mining for gold. I am constantly in search for the perfect gift, which I'll stow away for the perfect moment and the perfect recipient. I look for ways to update our home decor, whether it is adding a new pillow to the sofa or a new picture frame for the desk. I try and mix the traditional with the modern; try and find bold color grounded by fabulous neutrals; try to reinvent and update my ever-changing style.
